Going Live

On December 5th, 2021, 5k Projects officially went live into the world. An idea that manifested in a parking lot in June of 2019 in Las Vegas has become a reality in Kansas City two and a half years later.

I reached out to family and friends all over the country and got initial funding which we will forever be grateful for. The idea of philanthropy had been on my mind for a long time and grew stronger watching the pandemic unfold.

Numerous ideas had been thrown out and worked on, and nothing ended up becoming official, but we pressed on. That’s when a roadblock had presented itself.

The summer of 2021 was riddled with medical issues with multiple members of our close family network, and 5k was put on the back burner while focusing on the health of everyone involved.

The next couple of months included numerous doctor visits which one by one removed all the worry that weighed heavy over the summer, and it was time to return to 5k.

Fall and Winter of 2022 provide the first handful of 5k Projects, and we couldn’t be happier to move forward with our vision of a new wave of philanthropic energy.
